The Vineland Veterans' Home is one of three long-term nursing care facilities operated by the State of New Jersey for veterans, their wives, their widows, and Gold Star Mothers. A full range of services including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Alcohol Treatment, and other rehabilitative and recreational services are available to residents. The Home is under the jurisdiction of the Division of Veterans' Healthcare Services, Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs, and maintains a Special Therapeutic Care Unit for Alzheimer's patients and patients with other Dementia-related Diseases.
This is the state's oldest operating veterans home, having opened in 1899. It has provided residential and long-term care to New Jersey veterans of every war and armed conflict since the War of 1812. Newly rebuilt in 2005, this state-of-the-art nursing home serves 300 residents. The facility has a large, shaded outdoor recreation area that features a wheelchair accessible, 9-hole miniature golf course. The home is conveniently located off Route 47 (Delsea Drive) in Cumberland County.
